Dancing in the streets
On Saturday Amelia and I came across some buskers in York called "Blackbeard's Tea Party". We really liked them and sat on the steps of the bank watching them for quite some time. We were there so long Mummy wandered off to shop elsewhere, and Daddy actually got some nice video footage of us: |

Evie joins Rainbows
Evie just after she got back from her first session at Rainbows. They let her take Rainbow Bear home for the week to stay with her. He has been introduced to Pink Bunny and they're getting on fine. |

My even blacker eye
Apparently people keep thinking I've had an accident with some dark eyeliner. I told someone that I got it when Daddy crashed his bike into the back of mine. Hee hee! |

My Black Eye!
I fell over at school on 2009-06-17 and banged my head on the corner of a table. Apparently, I wasn't even messing about or anything at the time. I now have a cracking shiner! |

I CAN RIDE A BIKE WITHOUT STABILISERS!!!!
I kinda learnt a few days ago, on Saturday actually, the same day I met my new baby sister. Daddy says it's the most stressful thing he's ever had to do as my Daddy, running along behind me then eventually letting me go and seeing me wobble off into the distance. He didn't record me on the day I did it, but went out with his video camera today to record it. He reckons this clip shows me at my most wobbly, and most resembles what I was like on Saturday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQngcjWraW4This later clip is what I can do now. See how I stand on my pedals for a bit of showboating: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiIUMUFpk2Q |

On Friday evening, I watched CBeebies, and they were being all educational and showing some Maoris dancing about. They had tattoos *and* face paint. I thought this was great, and decided to paint myself "like Aunty Nicola" (Daddy is staring hard at melancholyrose_). Daddy helped me to get my paint out and I ended up looking like this: I was put in the bath shortly afterwards! Daddy says he doesn't really mind me doing this, as it's Early Learning Centre paint (and hence utterly non-toxic and totally water soluble), and it keeps me happy. Any anyway, small children come clean if you hose them down, apparently. |

Certificate
I've also moved my way up the star charts at school and got a special certificate! Daddy checked to see if there were *two* Evie's in the same class and the teacher had got confused, but apparently not and I've been rewarded for hard work and (wait for it) good behaviour. Daddy thinks Mrs Smith is a wonderful teacher. |

Development Milestone
Conversation this morning: Daddy: Here's LazyTown for you. Me: I don't want to watch that! That's for babies. I want to watch Spongebob Squarepants! Daddy: Er, OK. [Mummy says "hurray - do you know how much I hate children's TV?"] |

Development Milestone
This morning I declared I did not want to go to school. I wanted to stay at home with Mummy, eat sweeties and watch Beebies. Daddy laughed and said something about "get used to it!" and sent me off to school anyway. Bah! |

SCHOOL!
I HAVE STARTED SCHOOL TODAY! Apparently some parents cry when their children start school. Mummy looked more like this when I last saw her: Here I am in my uniform this morning, ready to go: |
